Mindless of the chill,
our thin jackets hanging open in the wind
we laugh at the people in coats and scarves;
all bundled up for winter.
Standing on the corner in sandals
trading tales from past years
of blizzards and snowdrifts,
and sub-zero temperatures,
up North.
People stare at us as they walk by.
"Those two are crazy,
just asking for pneumonia!"
And we just laugh, then go our separate ways.
But always will remember
the coldest winter day
In January.
